Far Cry 3 will be published censored in Japan

Ubisoft has introduced a number of modifications in Far Cry 3 for censoring Japanese release, so violent and sexual aspects of the title.

The presence of injured or mutilated corpses of some sort was deleted. It has also removed a scene of sexual nature and one in which you could see an open wound changing visual editing of the sequence so that this will not be displayed on the screen. Finally, there is a change in the gameplay of the title: if the user kills three civilians in a row, you will receive an order of departure.

In the Western version the user is cautioned against the killing of civilians and may penalize the player, but the application of it is looser and it seems that the number of civilians to be killed may vary depending on circumstances. The criterion is stricter in the Japanese version.

Japanese players who choose to import the game from Western markets may avoid these changes and enjoy the game in their language, and that was included in the version for other markets.
